Business Development Associate (Japan)

Job Description

The Business Development Associate (Japan) will be essential to growing Talentier’s client base in Japan, forging relationships with local businesses, and establishing Talentier as a go-to partner for tech consulting and development. This role involves identifying opportunities with startups, SMEs, and large enterprises that can benefit from Talentier’s AI integration, custom software, and product development services. For instance, the manager may attend networking events in Tokyo, meet with tech hubs in Osaka, and engage in strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders.


In addition to building strong client relationships, the Business Development Associate will partner with incubators, accelerators, and universities in Japan to foster growth opportunities. They will work closely with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Sales) to tailor solutions to the Japanese market and ensure the delivery of high-impact services. This role may involve collaborating with engineers to provide custom solutions or working with data analysts to adjust sales strategies based on Japan’s unique market insights.

Job Responsibilities

Identify and Engage New Business Opportunities:

Research and connect with startups, SMEs, and enterprises across major Japanese cities, particularly in Tokyo, Osaka, and Yokohama.


Example: Reach out to AI-driven startups in Tokyo or healthcare tech firms in Osaka to explore business partnerships.


Build and Manage Strategic Partnerships:

Develop long-term relationships with Japanese accelerators, incubators, and universities to unlock growth potential.


Example: Partner with a Tokyo-based startup accelerator to offer tech consulting and development services to emerging businesses.


Collaborate with Internal Teams:

Work closely with Talentier’s Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to align services with Japanese client needs and market demands.


Example: Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure solutions meet the technical requirements of healthcare companies in Japan.


Attend Industry Events and Network:

Represent Talentier at Japanese trade shows, conferences, and networking events to build brand visibility and generate leads.


Example: Attend CEATEC or Japan IT Week in Tokyo to connect with industry leaders and potential clients.


Meet Sales Targets and Drive Revenue:

Focus on achieving revenue goals by managing pipelines and closing deals that support Talentier’s growth in Japan.

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience:

Open to university students, graduates, and candidates with 2+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales.


Sales and Negotiation Skills:

Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and close deals effectively.


Bilingual Communication Skills:

Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential for engaging with clients and partners.


Proactive and Solution-Oriented:

Self-starter with the ability to identify new opportunities and tackle challenges independently.


Collaborative and Data-Driven:

Comfortable working with internal teams and using metrics to refine sales strategies.
